Isom Carden

Overview

Isom is a member of Butler Snow’s Labor and Employment group. He represents employers and other organizations in labor and employment litigation, arbitration, counseling, and compliance matters, including wage and hour lawsuits, discrimination, retaliation and harassment lawsuits, FMLA interference and retaliation lawsuits, EEOC proceedings, restrictive covenant issues, and other workplace disputes in federal and state courts.

Isom also advises clients regarding workplace investigations, OSHA investigations, labor relations, collective bargaining, employment policies, FLSA exemption classification, independent contractor classification, overtime issues, employment agreements, personnel decisions, and other day-to-day employment matters.

In addition to his Labor and Employment practice, Isom handles commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, and trucking litigation.

Experience

  • Represents clients in employment litigation involving wage and hour laws, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FMLA interference and retaliation claims, restrictive covenants, and other workplace disputes.
  • Represents clients in EEOC proceedings and OSHA investigations.
  • Conducts and advises clients regarding workplace investigations.
  • Provides guidance on state and federal law leave requirements, disability-related leave, FMLA leave, and accommodation issues.
  • Provides employment counseling concerning workplace policies, personnel decisions, compliance issues, and other employment matters.
  • Represents clients in lawsuits brought under Title VII, the FLSA, FMLA, the ADA, the ADEA, and federal pregnancy laws.
  • Drafts employment policies, handbooks, restrictive covenants, and assists clients in the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
  • Handles commercial litigation, including contractual disputes.
  • Handles trucking litigation.
